When you think of beautiful classic English kitchenware pieces with a modern twist, you're more often than not thinking of Mason Cash. .
Mason Cash provides households with everyday staples that are both functional yet visually appealing, but we're getting ahead of ourselves. Let's go back to the beginning.
The roots of this company can be traced all the way back to the English ceramic industry of the 1800s in a pottery factory operating out of Church Gresley (a small countryside town in Derbyshire, UK). This location was specifically selected due to its close proximity to deposits of clay and coal.
The pottery produced kitchen items were made from ‘white and cane’ glazed earthenware sometimes known as ‘yellow ware’ due to the colour of the local clay, or ‘bargeware’ as it was packed onto barges and sent to market.
The pottery was run by a number of professional potterers, including the colourful 'bossy' Mason (Mason would later become the 'Mason' part of Mason Cash). In 1901, Thomas Cash bought the pottery and decided to keep the name of the previous owner in the company's title but add his own touch to it, and so Mason Cash & Co was founded....
....and so was the iconic Mason Cash mixing bowl.
The design of this 'every-household-should-have-one' bowl has barely changed in over 100 years and can be recognised almost instantly thanks to its distinctive pattern.
The Mason Cash Mixing Bowl is a must-have kitchen essential when it comes to baking. Perfect for mixing all kinds of ingredients together, both wet and dry, these mixing bowls are made out of traditional, heavy earthenware for ultimate longevity and durability. With an embossed design and vibrant or neutral colour that's bound to complement any kitchen's decor, these bowls feature a white interior so you can see the consistency of your mixture at any time.
In 2006, production moved from Derbyshire in the UK to Portugal where it continues to provide you with all the goods you need to make baking a breeze. Mason Cash has since branched out to include tableware, dinnerware, utensils, and various cake decorating products in its bid to help you out in the kitchen.
