Knife Sales – Terms & Conditions
Proof of Age Requirement
Customers may be required to present valid proof of age (e.g. driver’s licence, passport, or other government-issued photo ID) before purchasing any knife or bladed product.
Victoria
Under the Control of Weapons Act 1990 (Vic), it is an offence to sell a controlled or prohibited weapon, including knives, to a person under the age of 18.
Proof of age will be requested for all knife sales.
New South Wales
- Under the Summary Offences Act 1988 (NSW), it is an offence to sell a knife to a person under 16 years of age.
- It is also an offence to sell a knife to a person aged 16 or 17 unless a “reasonable excuse” exists (e.g. use for employment, study, or training).
- Retailers are entitled to refuse sale where proof of age or a reasonable excuse cannot be provided.
Queensland
- Under the Weapons and Other Legislation (Knife Crime) Amendment Act 2024 (Qld), it is an offence to sell a knife or controlled item to any person under the age of 18.
- Proof of age is mandatory for all knife sales.
General Conditions
- We reserve the right to refuse the sale of knives or related products where satisfactory proof of age is not provided.
- Attempting to purchase knives in breach of these laws may result in referral to law enforcement.
- These conditions apply in addition to any other obligations under relevant State and Federal laws.
