Knife Sales – Terms & Conditions

Proof of Age Requirement

Customers may be required to present valid proof of age (e.g. driver’s licence, passport, or other government-issued photo ID) before purchasing any knife or bladed product.

Victoria

Under the Control of Weapons Act 1990 (Vic), it is an offence to sell a controlled or prohibited weapon, including knives, to a person under the age of 18. Proof of age will be requested for all knife sales.

New South Wales

Under the Summary Offences Act 1988 (NSW), it is an offence to sell a knife to a person under 16 years of age.
It is also an offence to sell a knife to a person aged 16 or 17 unless a “reasonable excuse” exists (e.g. use for employment, study, or training).
Retailers are entitled to refuse sale where proof of age or a reasonable excuse cannot be provided.

Queensland

Under the Weapons and Other Legislation (Knife Crime) Amendment Act 2024 (Qld), it is an offence to sell a knife or controlled item to any person under the age of 18.
Proof of age is mandatory for all knife sales.

General Conditions

We reserve the right to refuse the sale of knives or related products where satisfactory proof of age is not provided.
Attempting to purchase knives in breach of these laws may result in referral to law enforcement.
These conditions apply in addition to any other obligations under relevant State and Federal laws.
