Beef Stir Fry with 3 Ingredient Sauce

Stir-fry is an excellent go-to option for an easy weeknight dinner, especially if you're home from work and don't feel like cooking elaborate dishes. This easy beef stir fry offers a quick dinner recipe and comes with a tasty Asian-inspired BBQ flavour, paired great with steamy white rice for a hearty homemade meal!

Ingredients
Beef Stir Fry Ingredients:
- 450g top sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 medium yellow zucchini, sliced diagonally
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 230g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 garlic clove, minced or pressed
- 3 tbsp oil to sauté
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Salt & pepper to taste
Stir Fry BBQ Sauce Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp original BBQ sauce
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
Method
In a small bowl, stir together the 3 sauce ingredients. Set aside.
Heat a large stir fry pan or wok over high heat and add 1 tbsp oil. When oil is hot, add thinly sliced beef in a single layer and keep sautéeing for 3-5 minutes until almost cooked through. Season with salt & pepper, then add ginger & garlic. Sautee again for 1 minute.
Drizzle BBQ sauce over the beef to taste. Once it reaches desired taste, stir-fry another 1 min or until beef is cooked through. Move beef onto a plate and cover to keep warm.
Wipe pan clean with a paper towel and place it back over high heat. Add 1 tbsp oil and let it heat. Once oil is hot, add mushrooms onto the pan. Season lightly with salt & pepper to taste and stir fry for 4-5 minutes. (Careful not to overcook!) Transfer mushrooms to plate with the beef.
Repeat the process of adding 1 tbsp oil, this time along with sliced onion and other vegetables (red bell pepper, zucchini). Stir fry for about 7 minutes or until soft.
Lower the heat. Mix beef and mushrooms back in with the vegetables and drizzle more sauce to taste. Stir fry just until heated and transfer onto a plate. Serve over steamed white rice and enjoy!
